The Orlando Magic have high hopes for rookie Mohamed “Mo” Bamba who was drafted from the University of Texas. With the longest wing span by an NBA player ever recorded Orlando hopes this big man will make a big impact this season.

Early in the season the Orlando Magic are starting out strong but fans wonder if they have what it takes to continue a run throughout the season. The Magic have long been in a rebuilding stage which resulted in getting rid of good players who went on to get a ring with another NBA team. The team got rid of valuable players like Oladipo who won most improved player, and made the All-NBA Team, as well as JJ Redick who led the league in three point percentage at one point. Could it be the front office not wanting to spend money on players who could benefit the team, or do they have a vision for the Magic’s future? Whatever is happening, Orlando needs to prove something this season after four years straight of losing records.

After pulling off an exciting win against the Celtics and seeing the impressive play of rookie Mo Bamba, loyal fans have hope this could be the year. Supporters are eager to rally around their hometown team and are hoping they will make it to see some postseason action.

“I think they won’t do too bad and they can make the playoffs, because the east is weak and they have good young players like Gordon, Bamba, and Isaac.” said sophomore Alberto Carrion.

Orlando’s biggest hurdle in recent years has been their consistency. Their seasons start off great but fizzle in the end. This season they have key role guys and young hungry players. They also have a few experienced athletes like Nikolai Vucevic and Terrance Ross.

Sophomore Roberto Vazquez also believes Orlando has a chance of making a mark this season by getting to the playoffs. “I think they can make a playoff appearance if they stay consistent.”

The Magic have great talent that need chance to develop so they can execute on the court. When that happens the Magic will finally be the team fans have waited so long to see.
