Queen of Bows and Being Herself
JoJo Siwa has come out as gay. She has told the whole world to let everyone know who she really is.
Jojo Siwa, or Joelle Joanie Siwa, has recently come out as apart of the LGBTQ+ community. The star is well known for her role on Dance Moms from 2013 – 2015, her music career and Nickelodeon contract. After her first single “Boomerang” in 2016, Siwa became famous to Gen Z.
Siwa hinted about her sexuality before coming out by making TikToks with an LBGTQ+ group named ‘Pride House’ and posted a TikTok on her personal page to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” On Twitter, Siwa officially came out on January 21st by posting a photo of her wearing a shirt with the words “BEST. GAY. COUSIN EVER.”
On February 3rd, Siwa appeared via Zoom on The Tonight Show and opened up to Jimmy Falon about how she currently has a girlfriend who inspired her to come out and the risks she faced coming out publically.
“But if I lost everything that I’ve created because of being myself because of loving someone I want to love, I don’t want it,” Siwa said.
Other celebrities such as Abby Lee Miller, the main character of Dance Moms, and Nickelodeon have since shown support and love for Siwa finally showing her true self to the world.
Siwa has since posted an Instagram live on her account opening up about her sexuality further. She denied identifying what label she identifies with but thanked her followers for all the love and support she’s received.
“I’m just so happy because now I get to share what makes me the happiest with the world, and it makes my heart so happy,” Siwa said.

I truly love how she came out and that she is starting to become herself. This story is very detailed and I love how it’s based on Jojo and how she is truly able to be herself and didn’t care about how everyone thinks.

I admire JoJo for being so brave and speaking her truth. This world can be a bit cruel and I am glad the outcome was good. I am also glad that Abby from Dance Moms spoke in favor of Jojo since they did have a rocky past but are great friends now. This article had great details and efficient info!

This is a very wholesome article. A teen in our generation who is known for many things, comes out to her fans and supporters. It gave us the point of the article including information about Jojo and her fame. She will be a great addition to the LGBTQ+ community. Hopefully people who love and support her will have the confidence to be their true selves in any shape or form. Overall it was an amazing article and very well written.

I think this is so inspirational to so many people with her being such a big icon for such a long time. I think this was very informational and I would most likely understand who she is if i have never heard about it.

I used to watch dance moms growing up and I used to listen to her songs when I was young. I am proud of her for being true to herself and being an inspiring person to look at from a child’s perspective, I hope that she stays strong out there on social media. The article was well typed and had a lot of info about Jojo and she is a great person and brought a whole new light to the LGBTQ+ community.

I didn’t even know Jojo had come out and this story was just about that. It’s really inspiring that she would do that as a teenager and despite what people would say.

This was a great article! Very informative, if someone who knew nothing about Jojo Siwa and her coming out, they would understand this, and what her impact was. She definitely brought an impact on the LGBTQ+ community. Considering she has such a huge platform, and most kids look up to her, this taught kids how you can love anyone. Great job!

Great article. I certainly find it inspiring how JoJo Siwa managed to find the courage to come out confidently to maintain her own happiness within herself versus her fame and fortune.

I absolutely love that she came out, and that she didn’t care how it affected her career. She is happy to be herself rather than be famous. The support she received is also amazing. I’m very glad that she is happy with her girlfriend and that she is comfortable being out.
