Kevin Santos was born in Puerto Rico in 2004 and later moved to Florida in 2012. Growing up he always had a fascination for cars, beginning when he was playing with model cars and video games. When he moved to Florida he had an opportunity to attend a NASCAR race for the first time. In July of 2013 he did in fact attend his first race. He sat only a couple rows away from the track and got to watch his favorite racer, Dale Earnhardt Jr which began when he was playing with his model car, 124 Diecast, and it has grown ever since. Nowadays, his interest for cars has transferred to the digital world too. Kevin loves to draw and design cars on the computer. He uses those designs for video games. He inputs the design and then drives the car throughout the track.
Kevin also has a passion for wrestling. When he was younger, he started playing with action figures based on wrestlers such as Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and Rey Mysterio. He used those moves from the actual wrestlers live on TV to wrestle his cousins, afterwards leaving the room crying with pain. Instead of wrestling to the death, Kevin played wrestling video games instead. WWE 2K 14 was his favorite one. Featuring wrestlers such as John Cena, The Rock, and Undertaker.
Kevin has been at Lyman High School since freshman year, and joined the newspaper because he likes to write about things he is passionate about. During last year's Pandemic, he chose to stay virtual the entire year because he was afraid of contracting the disease, as well as his family members. He thought it was pretty tough transitioning from in person to virtual, it took him a while to get used to staying in his room for hours. Since coming back for his senior year he is excited to see his friends and get back to school. Even though he doesn’t know where he wants to go for college, Kevin thinks his career will be aimed towards the field of digital design.
