HARVEY, IL — A 6-month-old child was killed and seven other people were injured Sunday evening in a rollover crash on Interstate 57 in Harvey, Illinois State Police said.
The child was later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Dakari Lomax of Chicago. Police said the crash happened north of 147th Street at about 5:48 p.m. and left northbound traffic blocked for hours.
Officials said the entrance ramp from 147th Street also was shut down while investigators worked at the scene.

Illinois State Police said the infant was taken to an area hospital after the crash but died there. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the child’s identity and home city.
No other details about Dakari Lomax were immediately released. Police did not say whether the child was in the vehicle, how many vehicles were involved, or what led to the rollover.
As of the latest update, officials had not released any information about the condition of the other people injured in the crash.
