Goodbye Track!
Some students hate it, other students love it, but everyone knows the track-the 7 lane, heavily cracked, shin-splint inducing, asphalt track. No matter what part of the spectrum your feelings for the track fall under, it’s time for all students to tell it goodbye.
The track and stadium are set to be completely demolished and rebuilt by May of 2019. The school and boosters plan to lay down a brand 8 lane asphalt track and eventually upgrade to a rubber track in the next few years. In addition, the field lights, the bleachers on both sides of the stadium, and the press box all are on track to be completely rebuilt and renovated.
Most students and faculty are very excited for these upcoming renovations.
“I’m excited for the new track because it will improve the performance of all athletes,” senior Daniel Harrell said.

After reading this, I am very exited to see the new changes that will be added. The idea of a rubber track will improve many things. It will make the track more suitable and convenient space for track runners and other sports who practice here.

I am a Freshman and although I’ve only been here for a semester, I am very excited for the remodeling and I think it will look aesthetically pleasing while being advanced.

I wish they would have waited to start. But even as a senior, I am excited for this upgrade.

I’m disappointed that we won’t have the track for track and field season, but I’m excited all the same for my sophomore year in running–cross country and track and field.
