Sports Get Political
In response to the increased outcry from protesters of the Black Lives Matter movement this year, many major league sports have followed suit.
NBA players boycotted game five of the playoffs in protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake and took a knee while wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts. The phrase was also prominently displayed on the court’s sidelines.
In baseball, games following Jacob Blake’s death were postponed. A few days later, players organized walkouts before games to honor other victims of police brutality that have been amplified by the BLM movement.
Lastly there’s the NFL. In addition to continuing to kneel in the tradition of Colin Kaepernick, teams have lined up in the middle of the field before games to lock arms and show unity. Also players have been seen with the names of police brutality victims and the phrase “end racism” on their helmets.

I like how subjective you stayed about such a polarizing subject. The showing of these teams is definitely something that needs to be documented as the movement continues to grow.

Nicely done article. I like how you incorporate the sports that everyone cares about and why they are protesting.
