Even though fans thought the show was over, on December 8th of 2020 the creators announced an iCarly reboot.
Most of the original actors have confirmed their return to the show including Miranda Crossgrove (Carly Shay), Jerry Trainor (Spencer Shay) and Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson).
So far, Jenette McCurdy (Sam Puckett) and Noah Munck (Gibby) and have announced they will not be returning for the reboot.
“The new show is mainly being made with all the original fans in mind,” actress Miranda Crosgrove said. “Although we hope families will enjoy it together, this version of the show will be more mature and follow our lives now.”
With all the talk regarding the reboot, childhood fans are excitedly anticipating the release.
“iCarly was a super big part of my childhood,” junior Courtney Sickler said. “I think having a reboot will be really nostalgic and fun to watch.”

It won’t be the same without 2 of the best characters from the show. Do we at least know if Tebow will be back?

I cant wait for the reboot and I hope it will be just as good as the old show. Although I am sad that Sam and Gibby will not be there.

I’m a bit conflicted on whether or not I’d like this reboot. iCarly was a huge part of my childhood personally, so when I think of it getting a reboot I tend to think of how it might fail to meet the expectations I had for it at a young age. For example, two of the main characters won’t be included, (for understandable reasons) how will the director handle this? Despite that I’m excited to see something that meant a lot to me back on the TV! I’m sure a lot of others are too.

The reboot is an exceptional idea and offers teens who grew up watching it to dabble into their more younger years. I think the reboot is a wonderful idea. However, losing Sam and Gibby is both sad yet understandable for the actors.

I think it is cool that Brooke wrote about how iCarly is coming back on air. This is something that I did not know about and now I am more informed. I like how she included who from the original cast will be on the show and who is not returning.

I’m so excited about the reboot! I am really sad Gibby and Sam won’t be there but I know Jennette had a really poor experience on the show. I hope it’s as good as the original.
