Jake Hopkins – Flagler Beach

https://www.cityofflaglerbeach.com

Looking for a place to get out over spring break? Well, Flagler Beach may be the place for you and your family. Flagler Beach is one of the few pet-friendly beaches in Florida. It is a great place to get out and social distance because it is not a very popular beach since it’s so close to Daytona, everyone typically goes there instead. The waves tend to have a bit of height to them but come in very soft. The water is also a consistent depth throughout most of the shoreline until the dropoff that flattens out the deeper you get. Overall, it’s a great place for a family beach trip to go out and spend the day together.

Jared Ortiz-Mund – Go to Cancun

https://www.ststravel.com/spring-break/mexico/cancun

Cancun, Mexico is a popular tourist spot for spring break. Tickets for flights range from 200-500 dollars right now, and hotels range from 50-700 dollars a night which are both discounted compared to past years. There are many things you can do in Cancun while being Covid safe. Many on-the-water activities don’t involve big crowds or being sociable, but they are still beautiful and loads of fun. Cancun is just one of those places that you need to visit and experience.

Justin Worden – Dinner at Waffle House

https://www.wafflehouse.com

Waffle House is well known for being a bit too small, except when there’s no one there. Waffle House is open 24 hours a day and as the name implies, they serve waffles. The waffles are fresh, brown and thick that only get better when smeared with butter and drizzled in syrup. So why not have a little adventure, meet up with some friends and go to Waffle House for some midnight waffles!

Kate Schieffelin – Mini golfing

Congo River Golf is your chance to play some award-winning mini-golf. It’s an exemplary place to spend some quality time with loved ones, whether it be your whole family or just a couple of friends. For anyone 10 or older, tickets cost $13.15 each, a small price for such a memorable experience. From serene waterfalls to colossal caves, the Congo River has alluring views and decor making this the perfect place for photo-taking, if that’s more your speed. There are eight locations with the closest in Altamonte Springs.

Brooke Tiedemann – Kayaking

Spring break is a great chance to get in touch with your adventurous side by experiencing the beautiful nature Florida has to offer. Kayaking is the perfect way to partake in all your exploration needs, while also staying socially distanced from others. A great place to take your kayaking journey is Wekiva island, located between Longwood and Apoka at Wekiva State Park. At Wekiva Island, you are able to rent a single kayak for $35-40. If you plan on adventuring with a friend, you can rent a double kayak for $40-50. While kayaking there is a large chance you will be able to view a great variety of Florida’s wildlife like otters, alligators, turtles, eagles, and snakes. All in all, if you are interested in a memorable and unique experience, then kayaking is the best spring break option for you.

Riley O’Connell – Go and eat at Olive Garden

https://www.olivegarden.com/home

There is no particular reason to go specifically to Olive Garden, but they have some amazing breadsticks. Social distancing is very well managed, with most parties having to sit at their own separate booths across the room. The best part about going to Olive Garden is that when you get their spaghetti, you can have as much cheese on top of it as you please. Never tell them to stop putting cheese on your plate and you will have a mountain of that gooey desire.

Cameron Brooks – Ride a bike

https://www.alltrails.com/parks/us/florida/wekiwa-springs-state-park

Spring break is the perfect time to ride a bike in the sunny weather. It’s great exercise and not only that you can enjoy the hundreds of trails too. Instead of driving places, you could ride a bike to feel fresh air rather than being closed in a vehicle. So over spring break if you want to strengthen your legs and save on gas money, there’s nothing better to do than ride a bike.

Ema Sanchez – Play Betrayal at House on the Hill

Click here to check out the game

During Spring Break we should catch up on sleep and relax now that exams are over. Playing board games with family and friends is the best way to relax. Personally, I really enjoy playing Betrayal at House on the Hill. It’s a board game where you and whoever else is playing go and an old, spooky house as you build the game board. Entering a room can be good or bad. Most tiles have a symbol for an event that will happen, an item that you can keep or an omen that puts the omen tracker up for the haunt. The game varies based on which characters are playing. Betrayal at House on the Hill is a fun, paranormal way to spend some time this spring break.

Grace Allen – Florida State Parks

https://www.floridastateparks.org

Over 175 Florida state parks offer natural freshwater springs, miles of trails and stunning scenery. Nearly 800,000 acres and 100 miles of sandy beaches offer activities from swimming and diving to boating and fishing. Take a trip back in time and learn from historical battle reenactments or take a day to relax and explore the many museums that dive deep into Florida’s heritage. Several of these parks lie just within a few miles of Central Florida. Most notably known for being home to many of Florida’s manatees, Blue Springs offers year-round 72 degrees water for snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, camping and several other outdoor activities. Rainbow Springs is Florida’s fourth-largest freshwater spring. It is most popular for its clear waters, which are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Be sure to read up on the many Florida state parks and schedule your next trip.

Carolann Smith – Watching anime

http://funimation.com

During the break, trying a new anime or catching up on something old is a chill way to recover from exams. Personally, I want to start watching My Hero Academia since the series is releasing a movie soon. If you are looking for a place to watch, Funimation is a great place to binge anime. Recently they released the slice of life anime Horimiya that will bring a smile to your face. You can finish the whole first season in one night! So, my spring break plan will be to lay in bed and watch different animes while I ignore my notifications and I’d recommend this plan to you too.

Kelsey Goodpaster – Clearwater Marine Aquarium

https://www.cmaquarium.org

Every extended break we get off of school my family takes it as a new adventure, our favorite tradition is to visit an aquarium once a year. My favorite in-state aquarium to visit is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home to the Dolphin Tale movies. This aquatic sanctuary is filled with beautiful sea creatures from tiny minnows to one of the world’s most well-known dolphins, Winter the bottlenose dolphin with no tail. It’s an extremely fun yet educational environment. If you want to explore the wonderful oceans and it’s creatures, go visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
